Bio

Jochen began his career at Sony Music Germany in Frankfurt. As a Senior Product Manager, he was in charge of new business growth and the creation of new compilation concepts.

He was recruited to join the label ‘Polygram’ and became their Marketing Director after two years. One year later, he was elevated to Marketing and A&R Director for the German label ‘Polydor Records,’ where he was in charge of all the popular German mainstream artists, with a yearly revenue of more than 35 million euros. He collaborated with musicians such as Udo Lindenberg, Nena, Matthias Reim, Howard Carpendale, Kelly Family, and Andre Rieu, among others.

After four years, Jochen was promoted to head of the international division, where he signed acts such as Meatloaf, Bryan Adams, Ace of Base, and Rick Astley.

Jochen, later on, became Managing Director of the labels Polydor and Island Records, where he was in charge of approximately 40 million dollars in revenue. At this point he was managing many breaking acts like Tokio Hotel, Rosenstolz, Aura Dione, Milow, The BossHoss, Ich und Ich, Stromae, Till Brönner, Stefanie Heinzmann, A-ha, Caro Emerald, Adoro, Lena, Juli, Barbara Schöneberger, Rea Garvey, Sunrise Avenue, Silly, Helene Fischer, Avicii etc. selling over 10 million albums, reaching 80 platinum and gold awards.

In addition, he was in charge of all music partnerships within TV forms. Under his direction, the show ‘Germany’s Got Talent’ grew to become one of the most popular music formats on German television. In his section, all formats starring famed host, singer, and producer Stefan Raab were created. In one season, he was also a member of the jury.

Jochen was in charge of the Eurovision Song Contest for nearly ten years, including the legendary success of Lena, who won the contest in 2010 and went on to sell over one million records across Europe.

He signed the worldwide rights to “The Voice of…” due to his extensive network in the Dutch music and entertainment sector. The inaugural season of “The Voice of Germany” was an instant success, earning the winner, Ivy Quainoo, a platinum award.

Jochen manages StageField’s Music Management branch and is based in Berlin.
